I Have Known YouGuide

Privacy and advertising

This page explains what I Have Known You Guide stores, what third parties see when you load a page, and how to opt out. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

The short version

  • No accounts, no sign-up, no newsletter.
  • No personal data is collected by this site directly.
  • Aggregate analytics record page views, not people.
  • Third-party advertising may set cookies on desktop and mobile.
  • An ad blocker stops the advertising entirely, and the site works fine without it.

What this site collects

Server logs. Like every website, the hosting provider records requests: IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp and response code. These logs are used for security and debugging, and they are not combined with any other data.

Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-RZCQ25NT38) to count page views and understand which guides are read. Analytics data is aggregated: page paths, referrers, country-level location, device type. It is not used to identify individuals and it is not sold.

No first-party cookies for tracking. The site does not set its own advertising or profiling cookies.

Advertising

This site may display third-party advertising served by Adsterra.

Mobile bannerBelow the main content on small screens320×50 banner

What that means in practice:

  • Adsterra and its demand partners may set cookies or use similar technologies to measure and target advertising.
  • Those cookies are controlled by Adsterra and its partners, not by this site.
  • The site does not pass your personal data to advertisers; there is none to pass.
  • Advertising is not shown on the 404 page, and no ad code is loaded on pages where no unit is configured.

You can read Adsterra's own privacy policy on their site for the detail of what their tags collect. If you are in a region covered by GDPR or similar rules, your consent choices are handled by the advertising provider's consent mechanism where one is required.

Blocking ads

Every ad unit on this site can be blocked with a standard ad blocker or a browser tracking-protection setting. The site does not detect blockers, does not gate content behind them, and does not change behaviour when one is active.

If you prefer not to see advertising, block it. The guides are the same either way.

Third parties that may see your request

PartyWhyWhat they receive
CloudflareHosting and deliveryIP address, request metadata
Google AnalyticsAggregate page-view statisticsPage path, referrer, device type, approximate location
AdsterraAdvertisingStandard ad-request data, which may include cookie identifiers

No other third-party scripts are loaded on this site.

Your choices

  • Block ads and trackers. Standard browser or extension settings work here.
  • Opt out of Google Analytics. Google publishes a browser opt-out add-on.
  • Ask what is stored. Email the address on the contact page and you will get an answer, including whether any server log line relates to your request.

Children

This site covers an adult game, and it is written for adults. It does not knowingly collect data from children, and there is nothing on the site that requires an age declaration to read.

Changes to this policy

If the advertising setup or analytics change, this page changes with it. The check date at the bottom of the page is the date the current policy was verified against what the site actually loads.

Contact

Questions about this policy go to [email protected], or through the contact page. More about the site itself is on the about page.

Data retention

Server logs are kept by the hosting provider for a short operational window and then discarded. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default settings, in aggregate form.

Advertising data is retained by Adsterra under its own policy, which this site does not control. If you want to know how long an advertising cookie persists, the provider's policy is the authority.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what data is held about you, to request deletion, or to object to processing.

In practice there is very little to ask about: the site has no accounts and holds no personal profiles. A request would be answered by checking whether a server log line or an analytics record relates to your visit, and explaining what it contains.

Requests go to [email protected] and are answered within a reasonable period. If a request concerns advertising data rather than this site, the fastest route is the advertising provider's own request process.

Your browser's site-data settings will show these under the domain you are visiting and under the advertising provider's domains. Clearing site data removes them.
