About this guide

I Have Known You Guide is an independent reference site for the Steam visual novel I Have Known You, developed by Dotty Diaries. It exists because the game has an unusual amount of public information in an unusual shape: a demo with four systems, a seven-character cast with full dossiers, and a store page that says a great deal about tone and almost nothing about numbers.

What this site is

A player-facing guide to the demo and a buying reference for the 26 February 2027 release. It is written for people who are deciding whether to spend an evening on the demo, and for people who have played it and want the systems explained.

It is not affiliated with Dotty Diaries, Steam or Valve. It does not sell the game, host game files, or reproduce paid content.

Where the information comes from

Every factual claim on the site traces back to one of three sources:

SourceWhat it provides
The Steam store page for app 3944610Release date, platforms, languages, price status, genre tags, the developer's description and warning
The Steam news post of 20 June 2026The demo announcement and the four systems it names
The demo's own interface and the official screenshotsCharacter names, dossier fields, relationship counters, control labels

Where those sources are silent, the site says so. There is no price, no play time and no requirement specification published for this game, so those pages explain the absence rather than inventing numbers.

How corrections work

If a page is wrong, it gets fixed rather than argued with. The fastest route is the contact page: send the page URL and what is wrong, with a source if you have one — a Steam store screenshot, an announcement link, or a capture from the demo.

Corrections that come with a source are usually published the same day. Corrections without one are checked against the store page before anything changes.

About the screenshots

Every image on this site is official promotional material from the game's Steam store page, used for identification and commentary. They are not modified beyond resizing and cropping to fit the layout, and every one is captioned as an official Steam screenshot.

No fan art, no AI-generated art, and no screenshots from other sites are used on this site. If you are the rights holder and want an image removed, use the contact page and it will be removed.

About the writing

Pages are written for players, not for search engines. That has two consequences worth stating:

  1. No invented mechanics. If the store page does not describe how a system works, the page either explains what is observable in the demo or it does not cover the mechanic.
  2. No filler pages. Every page in the index answers a distinct question. If two pages would answer the same question, they are one page.

What the site does not do

  • It does not host or link to downloads, cracks or adult content.
  • It does not run a Discord, a forum or a comments section.
  • It does not ask for an account, an email address or any personal data.
  • It does not pretend to have played content that is not in the demo.

Keeping it current

The game releases on 26 February 2027. Between now and then, the pages most likely to change are the ones about price, requirements, languages and the demo itself. Each page footer carries the date it was last checked, and the release pages are re-checked whenever the store page changes.

After launch, the plan is straightforward: rewrite the demo pages against the full game, keep the reference pages factual, and drop anything the release makes obsolete.

Editorial standards

Four rules govern every page on this site.

One source per claim. A fact is either on the Steam store page, in the developer's announcement, or visible in the demo's interface. If it is none of those, it does not go on a page.

Dates on everything. Each page footer carries the date it was last checked. The game is unreleased, so the facts that change most — price, requirements, languages — are also the ones checked most often.

No invented mechanics. Where the store page describes a system by name only, the page explains what is observable and says plainly that the rest belongs to the release. A guide that guesses at mechanics is worse than a guide that stops.

Corrections over arguments. If a reader sends a source that contradicts a page, the page changes. That is the whole policy.

How to cite this site

If you are quoting a fact from a page here, cite the underlying source rather than this site: the Steam store page for app 3944610, or the developer's 20 June 2026 announcement. Those are primary; this site is a summary of them.

Citing the page itself is fine for the analysis — the comparisons, the decision framework, the explanations of how the systems fit together — because that part is original work.

For anything that is not covered here, the contact page is the right place to start. All facts on this page reflect the Steam listing and the 20 June 2026 announcement as checked on 3 November 2026.
